About Morleys

Morleys (Bicester) Ltd is part of the Morleys Stores Group and as such our history is interwoven with theirs.

In 1929 Morleys Brixton department store started selling furniture locally to businesses, schools, and churches. As this grew in success and demand increased nationally, the furniture side of the business needed to expand, moving to its current site in Bicester in the early 1970’s and becoming Morleys (Bicester) Ltd.

Since then, Morleys (Bicester) Ltd has gone from strength to strength, specialising in furniture for the education market, from Early Years to Post-16. Morleys prides itself on offering quality furniture, a service that consistently delivers what educational establishments need, and a team of industry experts that honour our 91 years of heritage with their breadth of knowledge and dedication.

We are the UK’s largest educational furniture supplier, proud to still be a family-owned, British company.

Our dedication to service means we continually strive to offer our customers a breadth of choice, flexible solutions for all budgets and high-quality furniture that meets the needs of a modern educational environment.

We can advise you on the best furniture solution for your needs and have access to our own exclusive ranges of furniture, all the leading brands as well as being able to source quality products from around the world.

Expertise - Our capabilities and people

With the expertise of all our staff, we are proud to offer our customers an unrivalled end-to-end design and planning service that gives peace of mind when it comes to creating a welcoming learning space.

Whether a school needs to replace some essential pieces of furniture, redesign a key area or classroom, or a complete design and install of the whole School in and out, our dedicated team of furniture consultants can project manage that vision. They visit educational establishments every day, from nurseries right through to sixth form colleges, so have the experience and expertise to make the best of any space.

We are unique amongst educational furniture suppliers having 50,000+ sq ft of our own warehouse space with over £1 million of stockholdings. We also have a team of experienced production personnel that still assemble furniture, and our own fleet of delivery vehicles and drivers, meaning every part of a customer’s order is dealt with by a member of staff that cares.

Our Charitable Work

As a company, we support Helen & Douglas House, a hospice that provides care for babies and young children.

We have donated over £30,000 worth of toys, and regularly take part in fund raising challenges – the most recent being the Confidence Club Challenge, where colletcivey we had to run, walk, cycle 735 sponsored miles, and we actually managed 1130.41!

We donated some equipment and furniture to Thomley, an inclusive leisure facility, supporting up to 15,000 disabled people from babies into adulthood, every year.

“I just wanted to contact you to thank yourself, Amy and Morleys for the fantastic donation of furniture and equipment to us yesterday. It’s been an exceptionally difficult year for the Charity, so it’s very pleasing to receive support such as this, more so than ever. Our team have already put the furniture to good use across our large site – using some in our specialised sensory room and preschool areas, plus we have saved some of the furniture to go in our new camping pods which are currently being built. Thank you again for the support.”

Joe Kitchen, Operations Manager

Back in September 2020, we were asked to take part in a classroom transformation as part of a Teacher’s surprise on Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway!

Our design team consulted with the show and school, and came up with a solution for the classroom, then we supplied and fitted all furniture in an undercover operation, and you can see the results here. “I just wanted to send my thanks to you again for all your help and generosity for our makeover. The weekend went really well and the room looks fantastic. We’ve just secretly filmed the teacher coming into the room for the first time and she loves it! She specifically mentioned the new tables, their colours and their shape. We couldn’t have done this without you!”
