Morley's of Bicester Ltd
Morley's of Bicester Ltd is part of 'Morley's Stores Ltd'. The group of companies, established in the 1920's, now consists of seven London Department Stores and Morley's of Bicester Ltd.
The company was founded in 1929 when the Furniture Department of the Morley’s Department Store in Brixton began selling contract furniture, predominantly to the education sector. The operation expanded and was so successful it acquired larger premises, moving to a purpose built 50,000 square foot freehold site in Bicester in the early 1970s.
Renamed Morley’s of Bicester Ltd, it is now a highly focused national B2B company, with an enviable reputation in the education sector, for choice, service and reliability. We remain one of the largest independent companies in the marketplace. Whilst other companies have diversified into other sectors, Morley’s has retained its specialist nature.
In 2002 Morley’s acquired Duncan Roberts Ltd – a Bristol based company, which specialised in high quality fitted furniture for Libraries, ICT Suites, Residential and Laboratories. This added a further expertise to the business and enabled us to work on bespoke solutions for the sector with a full space planning capability.
In 2005 Morley’s acquired Principal Furniture Ltd – one of the leading distributors of folding tables and chairs for the Education, Church, Conference and Hospitality industries. This acquisition has enabled Morley’s to grow a successful reseller business.
